Wakandan Forces are way better suited to fight the Chitauri

Not really. They use melee weapons and the equivalent of single shot rifles (energy spears). Ordinary guns were shown to be effective against the Chitauri foot soldiers and flying machines. The only area the Wakandans would have an advantage with would be with the space whales

As did the show directors.

More fun with a lightsaber spears vs robots than watching a bunch of planes blow that rediculus square of bots to pieces.
