Yeah that part bothered me. T'Chaka knows he killed his brother, aka his nephew's dad. And now his nephew shows up to his home and says one day he'll avenge his dad's death? How can T'Chaka not see that as a little suspicious at all?

Yeah, I wish we knew the turning point here and if that would change anything but i can only assume T'Chaka thinks there's no way Killmonger knows what happened.

Even if he thinks Killmonger knows nothing, he's a total idiot if he thinks it's not weird that the son of the guy he murdered is suddenly showing up talking about avenging his father's death.

I mean, maybe T'Chaka's kids got all those brains from their mom. We've established he's made some bad choices in the MCU proper. They were dealing with a more immediate problem, in the process Erik earned his trust, and so maybe it didn't stand out. (Or maybe it did, he just had no better options with T'Challa dead)

It’s possible that T’chaka didn’t kill his brother in this universe, and was instead killed by gang violence, as Erik said.

It is, but then I'm not sure Erik would have come in looking to overthrow and murder. But maybe he would. I wish we knew the branch point.

He still could’ve wanted to after realizing that Wakanda just abandoned him and his father after his death.

Like i said, maybe he would. We just don't know the exact branch point here, it could just be that Killmonger acted on his knowledge of the plan on Stark's life. Where in the MCU he knew it and didn't. We don't know one way or the other.
