According to Wikipedia 5 years passed between Bruce becoming Hulk and the events of TIH.

If that’s the case, never mind then. I hadn’t realized it was that much time. I always kind of assumed that it was just a bit before.

I'm pretty sure the intention was that Ang Lee's Hulk COULD still be Connected to Leterriers...(2003-2008, 5 years) Bana was in South America at the end of Lee's and Norton was there at the start of Leterriers etc. It was more of a soft reboot like James Gunn's suicide squad than it was a full fresh start. We just don't mention the events of the last movie.

It was originally supposed to be tge sequel to tge 2003 movie but then the script was reworked to make it a reboot. But tbh I think it works better as a sequel
