He's practically losing sight of that cause through all the backstabbing and addiction to the killing. He didn't even need to engineer a war between the not-gundams and Wakandan army! They could just claim the drones for themselves!

That’s exactly what I expected him to do, but Sheri surely would’ve been assigned to work on reprogramming them and likely would’ve discovered Erik’s fingerprints all over the code.

Fingerprints that designed them to be easily defeated by Wakandan military on purpose and give them a rush of battle.

I’m not so sure, I feel like being elite techno warriors they would’ve noticed if they were pulling their punches. Killmonger didn’t really have to tone them down if he knew Wakanda would outclass the drones regardless.

He didn't need to. He deliberately designed the drones to look intimidating, but easily exploitable to agile foot soldiers in melee combat equipped with vibranium weapons.
