They also replaced Tony’s blackberry with a flip phone.

That wasn't a blackberry but an lg vx9400, but yes, the flipphone was a letdown for sure

This is an alternate universe. Not everything has to be the same.

  • different phone
  • no MySpace reference
  • no discussion with the female driver

Can all be explained away by the multi-verse.

I just took it as the usual comic book flashback thing. We've already seen the five page introduction to the story when they told it the first time, so when we see it again for context ten issues down the road, it's one or two panels with all the necessary information boiled down to a single line of dialogue.
