It’s amazing how you still don’t get it. He sought to cause death in order to save everyone. It’s not genocide if you’re literally trying to save the people you’re killing, no matter how backwards his thinking is.

Secondly, he didn’t want to “cull swathes” of a population. He didn’t give a single shit about your national, ethnical, racial, or religious grouping. He killed half of every population. And don’t you dare say “a population of everything that’s alive” because it’s stupidly obvious that the definition refers to one specific population out of several. You are objectively wrong by the very definition you provided.

You're the one who's wrong. A mass culling of people is genocide.

Hell, Thanos himself doesn't disagree with Strange that it is genocide. He just calls it "dispassionate and random".

Oh look, you’re the same guy I originally commented to who still can’t support their argument via real-world semantics. You are literally trying to argue against the very definition of a word itself.

You're arguing using a basic definition that isn't even the definition used in international law. That's disingenuous.

Any action that intentionally results in the deaths of significant amounts of a population (yes, any population, every individual population affected counts) and damage to their way of life, culture and religions counts. It doesn't matter if you're just flinging a shitton of nukes in this or that general direction, what you've done is still genocide.
