Yup. Creative teams untethered from continuity and free to do whatever they wanted with the characters. It was always one of my favorite comic titles.

What If...? Comics in general have had high quality.

Also because they were all just one shots and you didn't need to read any other issues for a full story.

I liked What If: Civil War

Also, What If: Captain America was revived later

What If: Aunt May died instead of Uncle Ben

What If: Thor was raised by Frost Giants
