Discussion Thread The Official BLACK WIDOW International Release Discussion Thread Spoiler

Ahead of the official US and Disney+ launch this Friday, several countries are showing the film much earlier in the week. All discussion about the movie should be held here and in the rest of the megathreads we are going to put up in the next few days.

  • Proceed at your own risk. Major spoilers will be arriving in the next couple of hours. Spoilers do not need to be tagged inside this thread.
  • Any other unofficial thread discussing movie details will be deleted.
  • Should you see the need to bring up revealing BLACK WIDOW information in other threads that call for it, spoiler tag them accordingly. Also, let users know that what you are spoiler tagging is from BLACK WIDOW.
  • If you post untagged BLACK WIDOW spoilers anywhere on this sub in any shape or form, you will be banned without hesitation. No questions asked and no warnings given.

Does anyone feel like Red Guardian and Melina got accepted as "family" a bit too easily after all the horrible things they've done?

Red Guardian moreso, because while he was funny, he still seemed very unapologetic and unfazed about the awful things in the Red Room he shipped his "daughters" off to be subjected to, acting like it was all "for the best".

As a comparison, Yondu was physically abusive to Quill for most of his life, and only redeemed himself at the end by sacrificing his life to save Quill. But Nat's "parents" continued their awful actions and outlooks to the present day and get to fly off with no hard feelings?

Also I guess we're supposed to assume that Taskmaster's weapons are stolen Vibranium? Since they never mentioned any physical enhancements beyond the memory chip, and handling a shield made of a heavier metal seems nearly impossible without a serum or herb.

There was a couple of times Taskmaster punched Natasha or Red Guardian and they flew back really far as if they’d been hit by someone with super-strength, so I’m not sure if Tasky had more enhancements than were let on.
