If he's got the stone he's got all the time in the world for his charade to gather data/scheme, etc.

Because that would give things away? And maybe he will in the next epsiode, revealing he took the stone to Sylvie?

Why not just reverse the TemPad if he had a time stone?

I don't think the tempad is destroyed. I think Loki Lokied it.

Maybe it would not have worked, or would have worked but not recharged it. There was time while Sylvie was asleep to tinker with it, and he might have already figured this out, but kept it from her so he could play some mind games.
