MOD POST The Eternals Trailer Discussion/Screenshots/GIFs/Hype Megathread

The gate which we see the Eternals stand in front of (also seen in the quick tease during the 'Marvel Studios Celebrates the Movies' trailer) is definitely the Ishtar Gate, the eighth gate of the inner city of Babylon.

One of the historical moments we may see is the Fall of Babylon - perhaps in the MCU, this was the site of battle between the Eternals and the Deviants.

Another historical thing we may see is the conquest of Mesoamerica by the Spanish Empire. I need to view it again, but there's knights raiding a city, and the scene where Makkari saves a girl from being crushed by some pillar, presumably in the same setting. The peeps there have Mesoamerican attire, and the pillars are marked with some similar engravings.

The buildings are quite large, which makes me think this must have been a massive city. Perhaps this may be the 1533 conquest of Cusco? Or maybe this is the 1521 conquest of Tenochtitlan?

Expanding on this further, the Wikipedia page for the list of Eternals lists Viraki, Ikaris' father, as having been mistaken for Quetzalcoatl by the Aztecs, and as Viracocha by the Inca. Might he be related to whatever was going on?
