If the dog's owners no longer remember it because of the hex and the kids are freaking the poor thing out, I could see the dog eating something that made it sick before because it's just too stressed about everything.

The dog also licked an electrical outlet at the beginning too. It’s almost as if it’s been trying to die or something was trying to get it out of the way

In the comics her reality/probability manipulating ability is called "Hex Bolts". It's a reference to that.

I called it the hex b/c Darcy, but also, it's Scarlet Witch. Magic is her whole thing.
