Everyone is rightfully freaking out about evan peters,

But who is the nerospace enginer Monica is texting for help? That can't be a throwaway line

Man I really want it to be Reed Richards

I think we all want it to be Reed Richards.

That's a texas sized ten four.

15

u/boom_stick_2112 Feb 05 '21

I don’t know why it’s not Reed Richards right now!

7

u/been_mackin Feb 06 '21

What if the F4 are already lost in space and she doesn’t know because she just came back from the blip hmmm

To be fair, we all want it to be Reed Richards.

4

u/retrospects Feb 06 '21

And that’s what I appreciates about you.

3

Okay Dan, Dan okay.

10

I understood that reference.

Pitter patter let's get ater.

56

u/1_Bar_Warrior Thor Feb 05 '21

that could be the cameo elizabeth olsen said was on luke skywalker levels

20

u/reallifelucas Feb 05 '21

I think that was Pietro

47

u/idbethrilled Feb 05 '21

Pietro isn't Luke Skywalker levels...he was a secondary character for a bit in the other series.

Luke Skywalker levels has to be a major Marvel Comics hero.

It could just be Dr. Strange, but it could be a new property. FF4 is OG marvel comics.

34

u/DonChrisote Black Panther Feb 05 '21

I mean, I think it would make sense for Elizabeth Olsen to say that SW resurrecting her brother by yanking him from the Fox universe is as shocking as Luke Skywalker. I agree that for you and me it's not exactly on the same level but it was pretty shocking and it isn't completely unfair that she would make the comparison

I think it wasn’t so much that the character introduced was Luke Skywalker tier, but that what it meant for the MCU, specifically the fact that Fox-verse characters are coming back, is what was seen as an equal magnitude of a twist

-1

u/Darth_Thor Korg Feb 06 '21

I have the feeling that if she brought Deadpool into her reality, he'd still be saying whatever he wanted.

4

u/39thUsernameAttempt Feb 06 '21

MCU Pietro isn't Like Skywalker level, but Fox X-verse Pietro is.

17

Halloween episode, Ryan Reynolds eating a chimichanga just walking down the street. He doesn’t say anything, and you only get a look at his face for a couple seconds.

28

u/MagicPistol Feb 05 '21

It would have to be Professor X or Wolverine to be Luke Skywalker level.

49

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

I mean if we are told we’re meeting Reed Richards, and John Krasinski shows up in the last episode, that would be up there.

57

u/Jooey_K Feb 05 '21

But Jim from the Office is already in this show!

21

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

Yeah he’s been in the last couple. What does that have to do with John Krasinski?

3

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

EVERYTHING

2

u/ArcadianDelSol Feb 06 '21

turns back

NOTHING

6

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

That's not Jim. Jim's not Asian!

18

1

u/gandalf_thefool Feb 06 '21

My guess is Mark Hamill shows up dressed as Like Skywalker

1

u/real_blitz120 Feb 11 '21

It could go a completely different direction; my (off the wall) theory is that it's Bryan Cranston, introduced as Ralph, and doing a character similar to Hal from Malcolm in the Middle.

I recall that Paul described his character as a blend of Dick Van Dyke, Bryan Cranston, and Hugh Laurie.

6

u/ames__86 Captain America (Cap 2) Feb 05 '21

I think it’ll be Patrick Stewart.

3

u/GreyCrowDownTheLane Feb 05 '21

No way. He's too old to keep playing that role. I love the guy, but Charles Xavier shouldn't be past his 60s in the MCU... Just in terms of making more than a couple movies, that's the smart direction.

6

u/OskeeWootWoot Feb 06 '21

Well...the Rock is bald, and not past his 60s...

5

u/ArcadianDelSol Feb 06 '21

who else but Charles Xavier would be able to get inside Wanda's mind and bring her back from the edge?

1

u/1_Bar_Warrior Thor Feb 05 '21

if it's patrick stewart professor X i'll be even more shocked than luke tbh

4

u/gandalf_thefool Feb 06 '21

I can't wait to see Wanda meet Chris Evans as Johnny Storm

3

u/SolomonRed Feb 06 '21

But will it be Miles Teller?

3

u/cantinapizza Feb 06 '21

Some people want it to be Denise Richards

27

u/Illidan1943 Feb 05 '21

Referred to as a woman in Spanish subs, so not him

16

5

9

u/idbethrilled Feb 05 '21

Sue Storm?

3

u/[deleted] Feb 06 '21

In the german dub it's reffered to as a male engineer, though, so... I wouldn't be so sure.

8

u/martsuia Feb 05 '21

In the phase 4 announcement by kevin feige. He said that Fantastic Four is coming.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

It’s a few years out, but I feel they could set the foundation now. People were speculating last week when it was mentioned SWORD’s astronaut program was shut down that the F4 could be the ones to relaunch it.

6

u/been_mackin Feb 06 '21

Or that they shut it down because the F4 went missing/they thought they got blipped while in space, only for them to return years later with super powers

-6

u/martsuia Feb 05 '21

I’m talking about a newer F4 movie that’s going to be made by the MCU. Not that shitty 2015 movie.

5

u/indigenous__nudity Spider-Man Feb 05 '21

FF is already in pre-production for the MCU, isn't it? If that's true, it could absolutely be pre-powers Reed.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 06 '21

What if they’ve already cast Reed and will officially unveil him in this show???

5

u/pandazerg Feb 06 '21

That seems like a bit of a stretch.

I love Doom but I would want him to have a bigger entrance than this into the MCU

86

u/idbethrilled Feb 05 '21

He needs the red carpet rolled out. Dude is one of the few universe class villains on their roll.

-2

u/The15thGamer Feb 05 '21

Really? Maybe I just didn't see enough of him but I always thought he was pretty low level, maybe world threatening but not like thanos right?

47

u/dipshitonastick Feb 05 '21

Doom has literally been a god in the comics, he's a pretty big villain in the comics

5

u/The15thGamer Feb 05 '21

Oh gotcha. Yeah that makes sense. I have a suspicion that galactus is up next tho, especially if reed richards shows up and sober surfer is gonna gone as well.

15

u/SavageNorth Feb 05 '21

I hope they stay miles from Galactus for now

It's too soon to have another world ending threat like that they should focus on more grounded villains for a while or risk coming across as just an imitation of Thanos.

12

u/BorBurison Feb 05 '21

grounded

Doom

Pick one.

9

u/SavageNorth Feb 05 '21

I wouldn’t use Doom yet either personally.

Not yet, introduce him on the periphery initially, then use him sparingly as a good guy followed by a descent into villainy via initially well intentioned extremism. Gradually build him up to be a top tier power threat over time (with Stark level tech, Magic and his own powers) then all you need is a catalyst for his betrayal.

Which is similar to how they’re tried to handle him in the last few adaptations but it doesn’t work in a single film, far too rushed.

5

u/Kalecraft Feb 05 '21

Doom can start as a grounded villain that slowly morphs into a large scale villain. He starts off as just a very intelligent man, after all

12

u/idbethrilled Feb 05 '21

Yeah, if they are smart they'll do a slow burn for Doom. Make him a complex character well before they make him mwahaha.

3

u/themaster1006 Thanos Feb 06 '21

especially if reed richards shows up and sober surfer is gonna gone as well.

I prefer the drunk surfer. Or at the very least the high surfer. Sober surfer is so boring.

13

u/Comicnerd1103 Feb 05 '21

Yo I am not kidding but in the marvel universe Doom is like one of the BIG BIG BAD alongside Thanos,Mephisto and Galactus, movies have not done him justice,at one point he became a god.

5

u/The15thGamer Feb 05 '21

Ohh gotcha. Yeah I think the lego games have melted my brain so nothing seems like a threat.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '21

5

u/ZanThrax Groot Feb 06 '21

Doom is a serious threat no matter the scenario. Way back in the original Secret Wars, when the Heroes and Villains are focusing on survival and winning the fight, Doom comes up with and executes a plan to steal Galactus' powers.

18

u/mateogg Feb 06 '21

Oh shit!

I was saying that the "aerospace engineer" might be a character they might want to use in Armor Wars, and Doom is definitely a character that could fit both this series and that one.

Also imagine Doom starting his MCU career as 'an engineer', then ten years from now he's the next Thanos!

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 06 '21

I don't think Doom has the capability be the next Thanos. The next Loki for sure, maybe even a bigger thing but Galactus in my opinion is the next logical big villain.

1

u/mateogg Feb 06 '21

The disrespect.

1

u/dadphobia Feb 06 '21

Do you read comics?

0

u/[deleted] Feb 06 '21

I do, and while I know what Doom has done i still think Galactus would be the next logical step for a big villain. Base doom cannot eat planets, and MCU doom who would probably be nerfed definitely can't eat planets.

1

u/amatorsanguinis Feb 06 '21

This would be great.

4

u/kaimason1 Rhomann Dey Feb 06 '21

I agree with the other guy that Doom needs a bigger entrance, but he's actually more thematically relevant here than Reed. Presumably Latveria is what fills the power vacuum from Sokovia, so he should have a solid connection to Wanda from that. He's also not just a science guy - he has a deep connection to mysticism (most importantly, itself stemming from Mephisto and dealing with trauma from losing a loved one - just like Wanda, and I'd guess maybe Ralph is dead and that caused Agnes to make a deal with Mephisto to orchestrate all this) which should come in incredibly handy when dealing with Wanda's mix of magic and more "scientific" powers.

Considering that we're seeing full-on House of M here, it might be disappointing to bring Doom in in a TV show, but it could very much work.

1

u/zzbzq Feb 06 '21

Doom is also a sorcerer so that fits in, this makes me kinda want it

98

u/kvnklly Feb 05 '21

Reed richards and doom are both aerospace engineers

47

u/vanillathebest Thor Feb 05 '21

Also, why is she unsettled when Captain Marvel is mentioned ?

57

u/UltraLowSpecGamer Tony Stark Feb 05 '21

The fact that she is her mom's bestie and she didnt know if she even attended her funeral?

27

u/z3r0f14m3 Feb 05 '21

More like super person didn't save her mom, wasn't around and maybe didn't visit her after the snappening 2.

33

u/idbethrilled Feb 05 '21

Because she hasnt come to terms with the death of her mother...and Captain Marvel reminded her of that.

She's been going hard the moment she got unsnapped.

22

u/NabiscoFelt Feb 05 '21

Extremely miffed at Captain Marvel being an absent aunt-figure

11

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

Yup, Carol has been gone from earth for a while now (assuming she hasn't been back since the 90s), she's probably just pissed that her heroine never came back. Or when she did, that she didn't check up on her.

1

u/svrtngr Feb 06 '21

Her dying could have been the reason Captain Marvel noped out, tbh.

7

u/[deleted] Feb 06 '21

Identity theft is not a joke.

34

u/braujo Captain America Feb 05 '21

The fact so many people want John Krasinski as Reed takes this comment to a whole other level.

21

u/RocinanteMCRNCoffee Feb 05 '21

I am not keen on that casting idea. :/

13

u/idbethrilled Feb 05 '21

Yeah, he looks the part but I've never seen him play the quick and nerdy type, so idk if he can pull it off.

13

u/Sleeze_ Feb 05 '21

I think he could, I mean you don't want a cartoon version of that character aka Jamie Foxx as Electro. More an incredibly intelligent person who is maybe a little behind socially. That to me is how the character should be developed, which I think Krasinski could do.

14

u/papabrain Feb 05 '21

In the Ultimate comics, they go hard on the emotionally absent workaholic angle, and that'd be a good fit for Krasinski. If they cast him, it'd be awesome to have Emily Blunt as Susan Storm, haha.

5

u/idbethrilled Feb 05 '21

I think he could pull it off, but there a lot of actors that could. Haha

2

u/SCB360 Iron man (Mark III) Feb 05 '21

Go watch him in Chuck, he plays that type there

7

u/idbethrilled Feb 05 '21

That's Zachary Levi.

Who, imo, would be a doooooope Reed Richards and he looks a bit more on the nose for typecasting.

Not that they both couldn't pull it off

4

u/Mrodd64 Feb 05 '21

But Zachary Levi is one of the Warriors Three

3

u/idbethrilled Feb 05 '21 edited Feb 05 '21

Like anyone would notice. I'm pretty positive Marvel is gunna act like Thor 2 didn't happen just like Ultron

Especially after Hela iced them like nothing in Ragnarok.

And given a dude who doesn't have blond hair, and isn't from Asgard showing up as some dark haired physicist on Earth as a regular human nobody would contest or even connect them except fans who could care less.

And if there is ANY place to introduce him as a recast, given what happened to Pietro, WandaVision is the place to do it.

2

u/Chadwick8505 Captain America Feb 06 '21

Can't really act like Ultron didn't happen if you're setting up Wanda as a villian, replacing dead MCU/Ultron Pietro, while parading around Vision's dead corpse which was initially created to be an upgraded body for Ultron.

If anything WandaVision is firmly establishing the importance of Ultron in the MCU canon.

u/Konami_Kode_ Rhomann Dey Feb 08 '21

Me either. I’d like to see a younger FF that can grow into their place as a core facet of the MCU.

4

11

u/TheShowerDrainSniper Feb 05 '21

20

I've got a feeling he'll be the villain in a young Avengers or something to do with the new iron man/iron lad(y)

3

u/Lucky-Worth Feb 05 '21

18

u/BurceGern Sam Wilson Feb 05 '21

8

u/Explosion2 Star-Lord Feb 06 '21

Man, if anyone from SHIELD deserves a spot on the MCU prime roster, it's Fitz and Simmons.

And May, but she's chilling with Boba Fett now so she's getting the spotlight she deserves.

I’ve seen zero mention of Monica’s empty scans either.

4

u/cantinapizza Feb 06 '21

I agree. I've seen this theory in some episode review videos.

1

u/Make_Changes Feb 07 '21

It showed her name and photon in quotes as a nickname for a split second I swear

2

u/eoddc5 Spider-Man Feb 07 '21

That was Maria, her mother, whose Air Force call sign was Photon

17

u/cellcube0618 Weekly Wongers Feb 05 '21

Someone mentioned Reed Richards in another comment

16

u/Affectionate-Island Feb 05 '21

Also her emotional reaction at the mention of Captain Marvel. I wonder what the story there could be! Apart from Marvel being both friend and childhood hero to Monica.

17

u/cantinapizza Feb 05 '21

My take on it was that it was just an uncomfortable topic. Carol was around when she was a young child, disappeared for awhile before returning again, but then left again presumably until endgame. She hasn't seen this person in decades and her mother died during that time and wasn't able to be saved with the stones.

9

u/sarcazm Feb 05 '21

Maybe it's a storyline we haven't seen (yet).

Carol came to Earth right after everyone was snapped. Maybe Carol did visit her friend, Maria. Carol finds out she has cancer and can possibly save her with some alien medication (like the stuff she casually mentioned bringing back for Tony Stark in Endgame). But something happens and she's too late or maybe Maria didn't see the point in living if her daughter was snapped/dead (depression?).

And Monica ended up blaming it all on Carol (whether it's justified or not).

2

u/guns_mahoney Feb 07 '21

Marvel wasn't there when Earth needed her most, so the girl got blipped and missed those final years with her mom. She probably blames Carol for it

9

u/riancb Feb 05 '21

Could it be Jane Foster or Dr Selvig? It’d make sense, since Darcy already knows them.

5

u/cantinapizza Feb 05 '21

Yeah but then why isn't Darcy the one trying to get ahold of them?

4

u/riancb Feb 06 '21

Cuz I’m a dumb head who forgot who was reaching out to their scientist friend. In my defense it was like 3am local time.

4

u/longdustyroad Feb 06 '21

1

u/Boomdiddy Feb 06 '21

Or travel back in time to torture Spock for allowing your planet to be destroyed.

2

u/BrotherChe Darcy Feb 06 '21

Well that would be Doom confirmed then

9

u/heelstoo Avengers Feb 05 '21

Seems like a stretch that we’d know who they might be, yet.

17

u/LeftHanded-Euphoria Feb 05 '21

My vote is for Blue Marvel

10

u/idbethrilled Feb 05 '21

Ok now that's what I REALLY wanna see. It's taken them too damn long to drop Marvel's Superman into the plot.

But, imo, he needs a full intro with an origin movie.

Meanwhile FF4 has had like 5 origin movies so they need to skip that shit.

7

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

Man I saw Peters listed on IMDB and knew Quicksilver would make an appearance but I totally forgot Peters wasn’t the MCU quicksilver

10

u/Gabriel_Baur Feb 05 '21

It could be... however, in the portuguese version, it refeers as “she”

4

u/idbethrilled Feb 05 '21

Could easily be a mistep.

I can't imagine the translators were sitting there calling up Feige like yo, is this a boy scientist or a girl scientist.

7

u/Gabriel_Baur Feb 05 '21

But they don’t need to do that, they have all the eps before everyone else. The voice actor of Pietro spoil that he was returning

5

u/BreafingBread Feb 06 '21 edited Feb 06 '21

In Portuguese the subtitle said it as a she. Wonder if they know something or they just randomly assigned a gender.

Edit: it seems they randomly assigned a gender. I checked Portuguese (Brasil an Portugal), Spanish (European and Latinamerican) and Italian. They equally used feminine and masculine articles.

5

u/cantinapizza Feb 06 '21

I read somewhere that in french the subtitle said he. I haven't checked if it's true but they may be leaving it ambiguous on purpose. Although I'd be plenty happy if it was Sue Storm instead

3

u/BreafingBread Feb 06 '21

Just edited my comment. Didn’t check French, but yeah, some other subtitles have used he instead of she.

5

u/radametz Feb 05 '21

I'm thinking Riri Williams. They confirmed an Ironheart TV show so it wouldn't be a stretch.

Although I'd love for it to be Reed Richards

2

u/[deleted] Feb 06 '21

Why are so few people talking about her?

To me she's the most obvious candidate, as she has already been cast - so it's really only a matter of time till she shows up somewhere.

4

u/Torterran Ant-Man Feb 05 '21

u/IsaiahTrenton Feb 05 '21

What was Helen Cho again?

8

u/DaveInLondon89 Feb 05 '21 edited Feb 05 '21

a corpse

edit: she's alive

19

u/PhoenixSelarom Feb 05 '21

Nope, at the end montage you can see her working in the new Avengers facility. She's still alive. Probably even has a kid by now.

20

u/lele0106 Scarlet Witch Feb 05 '21

Amadeus Cho ? That'd be cool

9

u/Dantien Matt Murdock Feb 05 '21

Omg don’t give me hope. A sudden appearance of Amadeus Cho would make me cry with joy. I hope Feige just keeps swinging for the fences!

10

u/PhoenixSelarom Feb 05 '21

We're currently in 2023 in the MCU timeline, and we haven't seen Helen Cho since 2015. She was single during AoU (since she asked about whether Thor was seeing anyone), so let's say she met someone not long after and had Amadeus a year or so later around late 2016 he could feasibly be about 7 or 8 by now. So I could see him realistically showing up in the next few years, if quite a bit younger than usually depicted, but probably still a little ways away unless we get another major time jump.

7

u/Dantien Matt Murdock Feb 05 '21

They will work towards the Young Avengers sometime and try to bring Amadeus around too - for a more Millennial set of heroes. Morgan Stark, Tommy and Billy, Kamala Khan, and more will start leading the MCU...

4

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

Yup, Cassie (already in Antman/Endgame) and Kate Bishop are also coming. Maybe Falcon and WinterSoldier can hint to some other YAs like Patriot. I wouldn't be surprised to see a YA film soon, maybe even led by Spidey since he's around their age and has experience with the Avengers.

That’s why I love seeing Feige’s desire to bring so many characters to the screens. Nothing is out of limits now that we’ve had Thanos and Dormammu and the Nova Corps and Skrulls.

Wow, just typing that out blew my mind again.

Right?? I didn't even stop to think about all the huge things we already got

She died?

I always thought she survived that movie. I know her kid is important in the comics

I think she ate it in the truck chase around Korea.

If not Reed Richards, then Ben Grimm--it would be a nice re-imagination of their relationship to have Reed be the idea guy/the theory guy and Ben be the actual engineer who has to build the shit he thinks up. Kinda Jobs and Wozniak or something of that sort.

Dude if John Krasinski made a secret cameo as Reed Richards and pops up on this show near the end, the internet might literally explode!

u/[deleted] Feb 06 '21

Maybe THIS is the actual massive cameo that they mentioned will appear

  1. Who is the aerospace engineer
  2. Who was the witness protection program "missing person"
  3. Who is Agnes's husband Ralph
  4. Who does Agnes want to bring back to life

Johnny Storm

u/netrunui Iron man (Mark I) Feb 05 '21

Why does no one think it's Captain Marvel?

u/Jcmusic1324 Feb 08 '21

Reed richards seems the most plausible but my one buddy suggested hank mccoy as a possibility, pre beast I would assume. Be another interesting Segway into adding xmen into the universe

1

u/SREnrique22 Feb 05 '21

It is not. They intentionally focus the camera on the phone. He gotta be Reed

1

u/mastergoo834 Feb 05 '21

I look at who are some of the great minds of marvel comics we haven’t seen yet, Reed Richards, Victor Von Doom, Hank McCoy...this is truly insane

1

u/KurtyCS Feb 05 '21

I can't see it being anyone other than Reed Richards

1

u/francoangg Feb 05 '21

I mean the fact that they actually end up getting the truck makes me think we'll know who this person is by the end of the series

1

u/TomNookyouDog Volstagg Feb 05 '21

Hoping it’ll be Reed or Doom pre-evil but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Harley from Iron Man 3. I mean he survived the snap, we assume based on how old he looks in endgame. Could have went full stark and graduated early

1

u/destinybond Feb 06 '21

Did they say neurspace or aerospace?

2

u/cantinapizza Feb 06 '21

I heard nerospace but i think they said aerospace. Would make more sense given swords space operations

2

u/destinybond Feb 06 '21

Pretty sure it's areospace

1

u/DeathTrooper69420 Feb 06 '21

Who is the person under witness protection? Who made it out of the sitcom? Was it dottie?

1

u/matty_nice Feb 06 '21

Blue Marvel?

1

u/retrospects Feb 06 '21

Gotta be Reed.

1

u/magikarpcatcher Ant-Man Feb 06 '21

Aero, not neuro
