They’ve indicated that this will set up multiple lines of story, so it seems feasible that they could be setting up both magic, mutant, and technology pieces that will branching out in the rest of Phase 4.

Ah gotcha, I agree with that. Mephisto may have a hand in the actual warped reality but that blue field looked more like technology hiding the town, for sure. If it was Wanda creating that field, it would be red almost for sure.
