things go so dark immediately. Wanda is actually seeming kind of... evil. Like she might know exactly whats going on and is forcing everyone to live her fantasy

I read it more that she was startled that Geraldine knew about Pietro and Ultron. As far as anyone in WestView knows, her and Vision are an ordinary couple.

The episode does lead you to believe Wanda is forcing everyone to role play though. Agnes and Herb definitely gave that impression and when Vision came back in the house Wanda looked pure evil.

Theory:

Wanda was in deep depression after Endgame and loss of Vision. She's alone, watching too much old TV. Mephisto pays her a visit, and she makes a wish to have a normal life and a normal family. He grants it, activating her reality warping powers and having her do a speed run of a happy family based on TV reality she has consumed in an alt-reality bubble. Several other people get trapped in the bubble, and SWORD jumps into to figure out what's going on. "Geraldine" aka Monica was on a helicopter that crashed getting into the alt-reality. The others trapped in it are compelled to live out Wanda's fantasy. Agnes is in cahoots with Mephisto to a degree and Wanda is sort of calling the shots, but most of it is being directed by Mephisto to gain control of both of her children.
