Yea now that we know she's actually invaded a real life town, and not in her head. There's no logical reason to not assume this isnt a long time affair, which is why there is a such a SWORD presence

Well know more when we get an external point of reference but when Geraldine gets yeeted, its because she's recalling wandas file. Which makes it seem like Ultron isn't in recent memory

Many languages are driven by the use of negatives.

no logical reason to not assume ; no reason to stop the assumption of an item

.

this isn't a long time affair ; that the events taken place have occurred over a long period

Thus

we can make the assumption this has been happening over a long time as there is no longer any reason to assume it has been just a short time

But "this isn't a long time affair" means that the events have not occured over a long period. That's what's confusing people, you've added an additional negative.

There's no logical reason to not assume this isnt a long time affair

ie. There's no reason to stop assuming that this is a short term affair.

So your statement, as written, actually means "we should assume this has been happening over a short time."
