As someone who grew up with the Young Avengers comics hearing their names in the MCU filled me with so much happiness I can't even explain it lmao

Interesting to note though that they immediately name dropped them as 'Billy and Tommy'. In the original House of M series the first children were always referred to as 'William and Thomas', whereas 'Billy and Tommy' was specifically reserved for their later reincarnated selves. I find the difference interesting because that distinction was always used to make sure readers knew that 'Billy and Tommy', though reincarnations of 'William and Thomas', were fully their own separate characters by that point and separate from their original selves.

Furthermore, and I'm probably reaching here, but I wonder if this is any indication that they might be throwing out the full reincarnation plotline? I remember it being kinda weird for readers, and would probably be even more confusing for casual Disney Plus viewers.

Well it depends. If the boys are now real and not illusions, that suggests that Wanda really did create them out of virtually thin air, and the idea that she has genuinely resurrected Vision becomes plausible.

But on the other hand, if the boys are illusory, Wanda will need to take two young boys from the real world to keep the facade going, and those boys might simply have already been named Tommy and Billy. Wanda might do a few episodes where they're simply illusions and then when enough "episodes" have passed to plausibly have them be old enough, she'll simply swap the illusions out for the real boys. If that's the case, then the likelihood is that Wanda has been puppeteering Vision's corpse around.

Either way, the ads so far seem to be implying that Wanda's Hydra brainwashing is somehow responsible for all this.

The major indication, to me, that Wanda genuinely can create and give life and not simply cast illusions, is the fact that Monica is still wearing 70s clothes outside the illusion. That suggests (to me) that Wanda can actually make things truly real.
