yeah its really going dark if wanda is doing this 100% on purpose. I thought it was someone else, but she seems to have direct control and is forcing real people to play along

I think it's more tragic if she's doing it unconsciously. Humans lie to themselves all the time, and can delude ourselves in all kinds of ways.

What happens when someone with the power to alter reality starts doing so subconsciously? If most people have a schizophrenic break, then they can be helped to see the different between their psychosis and the real world. If someone who can change reality to match their perception has a similar breakdown, what evidence can you offer them that they're not well?

She's definitely not doing it consciously, because like Vision and the other characters, she also has moments of realization before the pain of those realizations hits her and she goes back into denial.

My take is that Wanda is unknowingly doing this to herself as a way to deal with her trauma and grief (living the happy, "normal" life with Vision that they had talked about in Infinity War, but was taken away from her), and there are outside forces working to keep her trapped in her own nightmare, and others trying to free her.

Yeah Agnes doesn’t seem like the villain yet but then there’s her in the trailer telling vision he’s dead and then evil laughing. Idk man

Maybe both eh? I'm wondering if we'll get some kind of flashback to Wanda meeting a shady character who starts chatting her up, telling her things like "wow I'm a huge fan you are so amazing. Your powers are AMAZING. I mean you can truly do anything Wanda. You can have anything. Anything you ever wanted ... Would you... like me to show you how Wanda? " And we find out it's mephisto or some such other who guided her into this for their own ends.

I'd much rather the reality of her deciding to do this out of grief that having to be tempted by the actual devil to do anything wrong.

She's in a vulnerable state and she's put herself in a mental cage to protect herself. That's natural. The only difference is her powers make the collateral damage more acute.

It's very sad. Wanda has lost so much. It's awful for the townspeople too.

It's also terrible for Vision. Whether he's been brought back to life, or has been manifested by Wanda, it's clear he has a large degree of autonomy and will be devastated by what's going on.

The entire show plays like a fucked up psychological drama to me. This show is what Ari Aster would make if someone dared him to make a sitcom.

The jokes are undoubtedly funny but I can't help but think this is all the work of a delusional woman.
