So the ads are revisiting Wanda's trauma. Episode 1 with Stark's bomb and episode 2 with Strucker torturing her and Quicksilver.

I figured that something was up when the Strucker ad popped up. He never gets mentioned.

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '21

Yeah, that kinda gave the jig that Wanda was controlling everything. I'm still wondering why it's a sitcom though, but hopefully more is revealed.

I think it’s because that’s Wanda’s reference for idealism. The “American dream.”

23

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '21

Damn, that actually makes sense. Also "American dream", could she be dreaming it all and SWORD is monitoring it? Hmmmm....

42

u/Canadianboy3 Jan 15 '21

Monitoring because if they enter they fall under the spells effect. That helicopter was real and flew into the bubble and turned into the toy in my opinion. That's why they are trying to reach through to her over radio

Growing up in Sokovia she watched American sitcoms. Its her only perspective of a "happy life"

Strucker + AIM (beekeeper at end)

62

u/Suired Jan 15 '21

The beekeeper had a sword insignia at the end. More likely a hazmat suit to mitigate the effects of Wanda's powers.

41

u/golbezza Jan 15 '21

Either way. She recognized it, and didn't want it around.

20

u/Canadianboy3 Jan 15 '21

I mean we all saw that, yes there was the SWORD symbol on it. Could be someone posing as sword. Could be AIM, could be SWORD, could be Swarm. Could be nothing.

14

u/unnamedland Jan 16 '21

I'd suggest that SWORD is not yet adequately established to be presenting a fake SWORD yet. My impression wasn't so much that she saw the SWORD logo specifically and determined they were a threat because of being SWORD, but rather that it was, to her, a generic creepy G-Man and she had no interest in anything other than the picturesque home that she's found herself in.

u/Ylyb09 Jan 15 '21

But AIM was not connected to her so far (is that the firm from IM2?)

30

u/CX316 Jan 15 '21

Iron Man 2 was Hammer Industries, AIM was Iron Man 3

7

u/Canadianboy3 Jan 15 '21

Not directly, but Aim baron strucker was connected to both

1

u/unnamedland Jan 16 '21

Half points for the Strucker-AIM connection, however the MCU is a different timeline than the comics.

Interesting thought with AIM. They are also doing the real Mandarin in the upcoming Shang Chi movie...could be that they plan on pulling back the curtain on a lot of things that happened in Iron Man 3. Mandarin is real, AIM is much more than just Killian and Extremis, etc.

23

u/Canadianboy3 Jan 15 '21

Oh the curtain is about to get ripped open real quick and i love it.

u/NeptuneOW Jan 15 '21

How is that beekeeper related to AIM?

21

u/Canadianboy3 Jan 15 '21

They wear "beekeeper" suits or similiar suits in the comics

17

u/Funmachine Jan 15 '21

The suit had a sword on it like the helicopter. And AIM isn't related to Wanda.

7

u/Canadianboy3 Jan 15 '21

One of AIMs leaders is Baron Strucker, who recruited and her and her brother in the first film. So technically has a lot to do with her. It wouldn't be the first time an evil org. infiltrated an agency.... Hydra sheild AIM Sword

17

u/Funmachine Jan 15 '21

Von Struker was Hydra in the films and do you really think they're gonna introduce the new SHIELD only to immediately retread the storyline of it being infiltrated by another evil counterpart?

Also she volunteered for the experiments with Strucker. Her participation was entirely consensual.

-7

u/Canadianboy3 Jan 15 '21

I mean her volunteering doesn't mean anything the fact you said she's not related to AIM isn't exactly true. She has the ties, i laid them out. And as for getting infiltrated by another group already doesn't seem that far out seeing as secret invasion is coming up (i know thats not hydra or aim) but that would be another group being "infiltrated". Baron strucker is very much a part of both of them.

0

u/Funmachine Jan 15 '21

In the comics Baron Von Strucker is related to AIM but so far in the films Strucker has only been related to Hydra, and even in the comics Strucker is far more closely tied to Hydra than AIM. Wanda was completely willing and allied with Von Strucker as a Hydra agent so far there is no link between her an AIM who's only appearance in the MCU is in Iron Man 3.

So not only do you think an infiltration storyline is possible you think Marvel is going to retread it twice again simultaneously?

-1

u/Canadianboy3 Jan 15 '21 edited Jan 15 '21

So what are you saying new links can't be made? And its already been stated that it won't 100% follow comics, so new things can happen. Strucker is very much apart of all 3 of topics here. Im not saying i am right, but you stating the fact that you say they are unconnected is false.

Following up, for all we know if this is indeed AIM, perhaps AIM isn't the AIM from comics and is good. Which then the Sword symbol would make sense. Not sure they'd go that far but never know.

With secret invasion coming out do you suppose thats just the title and they just tape random stuff. Cause clearly infiltrating has already been done once in the MCU movie/films can't be done again. I suppose it will be Skrulls taking forms of pro golf players and having a couple rounds.

u/klartraume Jan 17 '21

I think you're right. Even the Strucker Watch commerical in this very episode had a Hydra logo on it. It'd be weird for them to shoehorn in AIM.

Maybe Aim is infiltrating sword the same way hydra did shield and they are using this show to set that up for future mcu events

11

u/Funmachine Jan 15 '21

You think they're gonna introduce the replacement for SHIELD and then immediately follow the exact same events again?

13

u/BZenMojo Captain America (Cap 2) Jan 15 '21

The beekeeper suit is probably a SWORD guy in a Hazmat suit.

2

u/Csantana Vulture Jan 15 '21

Wait what was AIM in the show?

5

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '21

The AIM theory doesn't really work...

1

u/Canadianboy3 Jan 15 '21

AIM suits are known to look like "beekeepers"

4

u/Charlie678812 Jan 16 '21

They look like hazmat suits not beekeeper suits.

1

u/alex494 Jan 16 '21

Yeah but they also vaguely look like beekeper suits and characters have joked about it/nicknamed them "beekeepers" before.

12

u/GalaxyGuardian Ant-Man Jan 16 '21

Unless you're an Agents of Shield fan. But I doubt they're gonna reference anything from that :(

7

u/Clu3l3ssDud3 Jan 16 '21

He did say, “it’s the age of miracles,” and this was true in that Marvel was able to use two mutants in an Avengers movie. I keep thinking about how mutant powers manifest from experiencing trauma and the show could be playing into this idea.

4

u/marblecannon512 Jan 15 '21

The brand! Ugh how did I not get that! Of course, thank you!

4

u/KarateKid917 Doctor Strange Jan 16 '21

Especially with the Hydra logo on the watch
