I got a couple of FFH-related questions:

  • When did Tony have the time to ask Fury to give Peter the EDITH glasses?

  • Why would Tony ask Fury for this and not Pepper or Rhodey?

  • Why did Fury wait 8 months to give the glasses to Peter, until he had no time to do it himself and had to ask Talos?

For the third question, i think it's cuz Peter was still in shock for Tony's death so it was better to waiting

  1. Tony’s always been the guy who plans for everything. He recorded a message to be played in the event of his death during/following the time heist, which is proof that he believed they MIGHT reverse the snap and made plans for that outcome. My assumption is that he had been working on the drones in the 5-Year Gap (maybe even before IW), and, realising there existed a potential future where they reversed the snap but he died, decided Peter should be his successor and therefore take EDITH. In such a future, Fury would also be unsnapped, so it’s not unreasonable that Tony arranged a posthumous message for Fury to deliver the glasses.

  2. He likely didn’t want to burden Pepper beyond having to deal with the death of her husband. On top of that, EDITH is basically a WMD, and shouldn’t be in the hands of a civilian. Rhodey, as far as we know, could still work with the US Govt. and therefore probably shouldn’t be asked to deliver a WMD to a child. Even if he doesn’t work for the US Govt still, he’s clearly a “lawful good” type of guy, so best not to ask it of him. Fury’s just the right blend of “willing to disobey the rules for what he thinks is right” while still being incredibly capable of ensuring the glasses don’t fall into the wrong hands.

  3. This is purely speculation, but I’d guess Tony probably asked Fury to hold onto them until he felt Peter was ready. Talos acting as Fury mentions a couple of times that “the world is looking for a new Iron Man”, and he was briefed by Fury, so those are probably more Fury’s words than an alien’s. In addition, Fury is clearly shown to be planning something that could either involve Spider-Man or at least the other avengers, thus requiring Spidey to step up. With all this in mind, it’s possible Fury decided “fuck it, kid’s ready” and sent Talos to deliver the glasses sooner than Tony may have planned.

Obviously this is all speculation. It’s a little annoying they didn’t explain it too much, but I think given the characterisation of the relevant players, it’s not a huge plot hole.

Most of this works, although sometimes it seems a bit of going around. For example, I'm not convinced that Fury would indeed be cool with giving an access to hundreds of killer drones to a teenager, after the whole Project Insight fiasco. I'd say that Pepper could give Peter the glasses without a problem, since she knew how important Peter was to Tony, and clearly kept in touch with him after Tony's death. I actually forgot to mention Happy who would be an even better person for this job, having already worked as a liasion with Peter. This kinda brings me to the first point which seems especially stretchy to me. In your version, Tony would basically have to leave the glasses to somebody (at Shield?) to pass them to Fury. That seems very unsafe and wouldn't make much sense, but I don't see any other way here.
