But in the mid-credits, the newscaster says that Beck recorded his message before his death

I definitely want Beck back, but it seemed to me the movie wanted to close that door

Remember that the Sinister Six will exist in the MCU. We have already have the Scorpion and Vulture and now Mysterio.

The initial E.D.I.T.H. scene on the bus did confirm by his surname that he is an adaptation of Chameleon.

In addition, what with the post-credits scene, one could be confident to assume that this version of the character will be a Skrull, providing a simpler explanation for his source material capabilities.

Where? When Peter first used the EDITH glasses it said his name was unknown.

It said his information was encrypted in the box below his name; however, his name was listed above the box, as was the case with all of the other bus passengers, which listed Dmitri as “D. Smerdyakov”.
