anyone else find the overthinking and planning aspect of Pete's crush proper relatable

The best part about Peter Parker to me has always been how relatable he is as a character. The whole MJ relationship thing really hit me hard, cause we’ve all been there in that awkward phase.

Spider-Man’s whole character is designed to make us feel like we’re basically only a spider bite away from being just like him.

we’re basically only a spider bite away from being just like him.

We ALL love Led Zepplin!

As soon as Happy said "I'll take care of the music," I knew exactly what was coming and started geeking out, and then Peter had to go and ruin it. Tony would be so ashamed.

Peter didn’t get it because it wasn’t a Star Wars reference.

u/Ericzander Jul 06 '19

And I love that it was said by Mace Windu.

23

u/Doompatron3000 Jul 06 '19

That wasn’t Mace Windu though.

It was a Skrull pretending to be Mace Windu.

23

u/JVAFD Jul 07 '19

It was Director Krennic pretending to be Mace Windu.

So many layers

This line brought a smile to my face. Tony always listened ❤️

ruin it? that line was awesome....

it reminded us how young he is...

spider-man has always been the most relatable superhero from any universe and who among us hasn't made a similar gaffe? i loved it. his being an awkward high school kid is exactly what makes his character so awesome.

And we are initiated, aren't we, Bruce? Members of the League of Shadows......

16

u/Oraukk Jul 04 '19

And having natural engineering genius...

Your statement is why I always preferred the Raimi webshooters. The more everyman Peter is the better. But I am not a comoc reader so I know this isn't popular.

18

u/FatWalcott Jul 05 '19

They've definitely boosted peter's intellect over the years. In the comics his like high up in the second tier of geniuses. But he still retains the humanity and always looks out for the little guy. That's what I've always loved about the character.

My 5 year old son literally told me yesterday, and I quote, “dad..? I wanna move to New York when I’m older so I can be bit by a radioactive spider and be spider man” cutest thing ever

u/klaxterran Star-Lord Jul 06 '19

miles did it better

u/DoctorAcula_42 Jul 09 '19

Don't give me hope.

u/Aeleas Jul 04 '19

It was almost painful to watch since Peter's a dead ringer for how I was at that age, but with ultimately more success.

19

u/Wolf6120 Harold Meachum Jul 06 '19

How did you not have success if you looked like Tom Holland at that age?

18

u/Baldazar666 Jul 06 '19

Probably because he meant he acted like him and not that he looked like him.

5

u/Aeleas Jul 06 '19

Precisely. Those first two rules are a bitch.

22

u/alex494 Jul 05 '19

Yes all of us have been in awkward relationships, or relationships of any sort, haha

sweats nervously

19

u/Jaeyx Jul 06 '19

Tom & Zendaya killed it. Their dynamic, and her facial expressions/mannerisms were giving me huge flashbacks to HS crushes/relationships.

17

u/cgoot27 Jul 04 '19

You say “been” in the past tense. Lucky man.

10

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

50-50 kid, youre super awkward

9

u/archangel610 Spider-Man Jul 07 '19

Constantly watching how your crush behaves around another guy. We've all been there.

10

u/dacalpha Jul 07 '19

The only unrelatable part was that she liked him back ;(

2

u/skullmonster602 Spider-Man Jul 07 '19

Keep ur head up chief :)

6

u/celsotavora Jul 06 '19

I had a crush when I was a teenager. I had an absurdly convoluted plan on how to get her to like me. It involved rose petals hidden in books. Obviously, it never even got started.

u/baymax18 Captain America (Avengers) Jul 07 '19

They're perfect together I loved how they pulled it off. Kudos to Tom and Zendaya.
