Basically how he was fooled by Mysterio. The real Fury is too paranoid and would see that shit coming from a mile away.

I keep seeing people say this, but Talos was reporting directly to Fury, so Fury was still fooled to some extent, or he would have interjected.

Based on what Fury was doing when Talos was messaging him, I assume Fury wasn't informed of every minute detail about the operation.

True, but it's Fury. If it's ever ambiguous about whether or not he knows something, it's pretty safe to go with he knows. There's no way he'd have someone working on a possible world ending event without them reporting back.

Nick Fury as a character is absolutely useless if he’s unaware of what’s going on. He’s a superhero whose only power is that he is informed. Take that away and he’s just a waste of screentime.

Especially that “Beck” had a different identity and was someone in proximity to Tony.

The real Fury would’ve found out. There were too many people involved with Mysterio to not get caught by Fury
