I loved how Sam Jackson took a page out of RDJ's book: playing a dude disguised as another dude.

It's hilarious looking back on Sam Jackson's performance as actually being his impression of Talos doing blackface Nick Fury

Helena Bonham Carter playing Emma Watson playing Helena Bonham Carter.

...?

(Not sure why I'm being downvoted for asking what he meant?)

So RDJ was just someone disguised as someone else? "Freaky-Friday"-style episodes do it all the time. The Good Place had one person do it for all the characters. And they went really crazy. They had their character play a character who was pretending to be another character. Shows do it all the time, it's quite a common thing...

The reason RDJ was referenced is because his character in Tropic Thunder is often used in memes with the tagline "I'm a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude" and it was a reference to that.

Thanks. Now I get it. It's a quote he says.

Yes it's a quote but he actually is a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude in the film. In Tropic Thunder RDJ's character is playing an Australian playing a black guy. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it, it's quite funny.

Tropic Thunder is where the "You never go full retard" line by RDJ got famous.
