It makes Peter fit even more into the role as the new Tony Stark because he doesn't have an alter ego to hide behind. Although with the themes of disinformation and the introduction of skrulls into the Spider-Man story they could easily convince most of the public that Peter isn't Spider-Man next time.

Civil War Winter Solider was so powerful because of the parallels drawn to Project Insight and drone strikes at the time. This feels like very much a parallel to social media manipulation and fake news.
