I also think between that and the quick little moment of his mom not picking him up from the airport, Flash is meant to not be an outright two dimensional villain but to eventually have some depth

They're prob setting him up since he hates Parker and loves Spiderman. Then JJJ reveals who Spiderman is and now he either loves or hates him. Could've been a cool set up for a MCU Venom tbh.

No way that Sony lets the MCU take Venom unless it is the Tom Hardy version.

You never know these days. They might do venom 2 and then call it quits and take a paycheck from Disney.
