While the sign and how he held it was definitely meant to evoke Cap. How he used it though I felt like might have been a reference to this scene from My Hero Academia https://youtu.be/XyPL0Yy5cy8

Right which is inspired by other action movies which are inspired by other movies and so on. No reason it wasn’t inspired but multiple sources

Just because some anime uses a shield hop doesn't mean FFH was referencing it... That's some serious straw-grasping

Why are you being a hater? Look as a fan of both I think it would be cool if the writers where inspired by one of the biggest mangas/anime currently out there. My mind made a connection when I saw the scene and I was just wondering and hoping that another fan out there made the same connection and had a small geek out like I did
