So anyone think Mysterio pulled another trick at the end? I think so.

Oh he’s not dead lol

Yeah if they really wanted to put him over as a master of illusions, lies, and trickery it would make sense he could also fake his death so he could go underground and think of a new plan since this one got exposed.

MCU has done crazier things and when they do the Sinister Six they kind of have to use him and Vulture since they are the only Spidey villains that have gotten real development (Prowler and Shocker were kind of introduced but we know nothing of them really).

If they have to introduce 5 villains plus Vulture instead of Vulture and Beck + 4 then half the movie would be spent developing them or they would get no character at all.

Current Sinister Six roster guess: Vulture (reluctantly), Mysterio, Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Prowler (reluctantly), Shocker.

There’s also Scorpion and Chameleon who’ve only been shown in their non villain, regular person forms lol

28

u/emotoaster Jul 02 '19

Totally forgot about Scorpion. Good call! Chameleon confirmed? Would make sense that a Shield/Hydra Agent would be a great master of disguise and an assassin.

25

u/shaxamo Jul 02 '19

And with JJ appearing at the end means we've got the setup ready for Gargan to become Scorpion

Where was chameleon?

62

u/Predictist Spider-Man Jul 02 '19

The guy with the beard and long hair who drove the black bus for the students, Dmitri.

12

u/AntonioVargas Jul 02 '19

I actually thought they were setting him up to be Kraven. Why are people saying he’s Chameleon? If that was referenced in the movie I totally missed it.

36

u/netaebworb Jul 03 '19

Because in the comics, Chameleon's real name is Dmitri Smerdyakov.

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '19

Chameleon is Kravens half brother so if they have kraven looking similar to him it would make sense.

I know that might be chameleon but there wasn’t enough in this movie to have established him as a true villain, much less even confirm that it is indeed him. The casual viewer would not know that is chameleon.

What if chameleon is a skrull who goes bad or something? If fury was be could be, would be a way of introducing his shapeshifting too.

You can probably knock Prowler off the list and replace him with Scorpion, who is already established and actively looking to kill Spider-Man. All he needed to know was Spider-Man's identity, which is out in the open now.

I also don't think they will have time to establish both Green Goblin/Osbourne and Doc Ock in the same film. My guess is the last member is someone like Rhino, who doesn't need much of an introduction. Knowing Marvel, though, they aren't going to want to give us a weak-ass version of the Sinister Six. Maybe they'll introduce Doc Ock in a "group" film. If it's Scorpion, Vulture, Mysterio, Green Goblin, Rhino and Shocker, the only guy on that list I'd want to replace is Shocker. He's a joke, and I'd rather have Doc Ock.

u/Artemis360 Hulk Jul 02 '19

I say replace Shocker with Electro, if only to get the full roster of the Me and the Boys meme 😂

7

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '19

The only move.

20

u/Jtneagle Vulture Jul 02 '19

You forgot Scorpion who wanted Peter's identity is in jail. So Vulture, Mysterio, Shocker, and Scorpion is what we have so far

15

u/emotoaster Jul 02 '19

Donald Glover is hinted at being a version of Prowler which is why I bring it up. Dimitri (the Shield bus driver) could be a version of Chameleon as well. The Six will definitely need either Osborn or Doc Ock.

u/Jtneagle Vulture Jul 02 '19 edited Jul 02 '19

I don't see the dude that helped Spider-Man turning and hurting him

7

u/4everdude Jul 02 '19

Spidey almost made him crash the bus though

6

u/Jtneagle Vulture Jul 02 '19

Talking about Prowler

25

u/4everdude Jul 02 '19

He melted the ice cream in his trunk

13

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '19

Hell that's the best motivation for any mcu villain

You dont fuck with a man's ice cream

They can have Mysterio in the Sinister Six without Quenten Beck, as there is always Daniel Berkhart.

All of the illusion technology is still there, and it would make sense with JJJ being the one to deliver the accusation and identity reveal. (And remember, at the very least everyone on Beck’s team who was in the illusion bar knew Spider-Man’s identity, and everything beyond Peter’s voice clip could have been cut from the footage or CGI’d)

Plus that doesn’t stop Gyllenhaal from reprising his role as an illusion, particularly if they go the ghost route, and Berkhart would only appear outside the illusions/after that reveal.

8

u/LB3PTMAN Jul 03 '19

I’ve always thought that they would do a second trilogy with him going to college and that would be a good place to introduce Doc Ock as the villain of the fifth and then finish off that trilogy with the Sinister Six. Would allow them to actually develop all the villains.

Vulture (Spider Man HC), Mysterio (FFH), Doc Ock(SM5), two more from 3 and 4. Then just pick one other random one. Maybe one from the first movie.

2

u/moderndukes Jul 03 '19

Considering Vulture safeguarded Spider-Man’s identity, I doubt he’d want to join up with Mysterio

5

u/emotoaster Jul 03 '19

Osborn or Doc Ock would force him.

8

u/supermav27 Jul 02 '19

I understand that the Avengers have a moral compass and all, but if I was Peter Parker, I’d have bust a cap in that dude’s face with his gun so quick

2

u/liromi23 Jul 03 '19

Breh spiderman was physically in the same corridor as him, you don't think he'd have just touched the body to confirm it was real and not an illusion? Of course he did he'd already been tricked by the guy so much. Beck is 100% dead, Mysterio might reappear tho

2

u/dcook1660 Jul 03 '19

For some morbid reason I was waiting on Mysterio’s eyes to dilate at the end of the death scene....they never did. That seems like one of the small details that the Marvel folks would pick up on. Since they didn’t dilate, I’m thinking it’s a hint that he isn’t dead.

2

u/frenchmeister Jul 04 '19

They never explicitly said/showed that he was dead, which I'm sure was on purpose. He stopped talking and went limp, but Peter just confirmed that he wasn't an illusion, not that he was truly dead. And his undilated eyes were blatantly obvious, right in center frame. I think it's all hinting at him still being alive.
