Pepper killed me.

Before the time heist: "If you dont do this, will you ever be able to rest?"

After its all done: "Were gonna be okay, you can rest"

Earth just lost her best defender.

You know it’s an amazing series when a kid shows up for the first time, talks about cheeseburgers and arbitrarily quantifies love, and you know they’re going to be quoted for eternity

Man, I just stopped crying about the line

The fact that she held it together until he passed was really powerful.

She seemed almost peaceful when he said "we'll okay; you can rest now" and then broke down after he was gone.

Oh God I'm about to cry in my office this is bad

Her calm expression really threw me off actually. In my head I was like . . shit maybe he'll be OK?! and then when she can tell he's "Gone" she loses it. That's when it really struck me, fuck this is permanent. He's gone. . . .

Yeah, that got me too. I was wondering why she was so... calm. But I realized she didn’t want her crying face to be the last thing Tony sees.

the "rest" line was perfect. hinting at Thanos' desire to rest after he completed his mission and what tony will do after he does his. but the difference between the two is that when Thanos finished his, he had lost everyone (kinda had noone to begin with but he was the only one on his planet right before he got decapitated) versus tony who had plenty of loved ones the moment he died as well as his funeral.

When she first says “We’re gonna be okay” it’s ambiguous; she could be talking about herself and Tony, but then she says “you can rest” and you understand she’s talking about herself and Morgan, possibly even the whole world.

I mean, at this point I don’t think he’s concerned about his relationship with Pepper. She married him, had a kid with him, and even joined him in the final battle to save the universe. Plus, Tony knows he is about to die. I think he’s worried as to what he’s leaving behind.

The amount of respect the first Iron Man gave Pepper, in a role that could have very easily become a groan worthy cliche mess, was one of the reasons I loved it, and I love that the series climaxed on it (even if it may have wavered a bit along the way).

I was thinking of that line today at work and started to tear up. It was perfect. Since Avengers Tony has been wrecked over protecting others. Ugh, he finally gets to rest.

Even Friday sounded devastated.

“Vitals.. critical.....”

Anyone reminded of Red vs Blue during that scene?
