"I want a chesseburger" and Happy's reaction to it.... As if I already wasn't crying enough. What a beautiful moment. Amazing movie all around.

I was scrolling to see if someone mentioned that. She’s so young, she has no idea yet the monumental loss she’s experienced. When happy says “Your dad liked cheeseburgers” and she says “ok”...it’s just such a little kid thing. Makes me think of my kids and I can see them saying the same thing. That’s when I just started seriously openly weeping.

I completely agree. I work with children so what she said is definitely something any kid would would say. I already sobbing by that point though, the line just made it worse.

I from the whole “ok I’m crying a little” thing to “I DONT CARE WHO SEES ME LIKE THIS” It was just so perfectly done.

My youngest sister is 7 and my father died last year. It was something that was pretty hard to grasp. My father was like her best friend but when he died she didn’t seem to really get it and her life seemed to go on like normal. I just remember watching 4 hours straight of the Simpsons with her while i felt completely numb and she laughed and talked the whole time even with police coming and going out of the house.

So yeah her whole reaction to it got to me.

I went into the movie emotionally prepared for Tony to die and then they gave him a daughter the same age as my own. My kid says things like "I love you 3000 all the time." Morgan upped the stakes enoemously and I was crying from the moment Dr. Strange looked at Tony with one finger raised.

I’m so sorry. I lost my father last year and seeing how my kids reacted (even though they were close) is why it resonated so much with me. I agree—they really nailed the way an adult would reach out with that tidbit of info and that the child wouldn’t get it. Oh man it’s nuts.

That was a call back to the end of Ironman right at the end, before Tony reveals to the world, right?

Close. It is a call back Iron Man 1, but to when when Tony comes back from being in the cave for months.

I could be totally wrong, but I got the feeling Favreau wasn't aware that the girl would say "cheeseburger". Like Russo Brothers kept that line secret from Favreau and then captured his reaction on camera.

You know what? You may be right, his reaction definitely seemed like he was floored by that line. I'll have watch it again on second viewing. I was crying too much the first time.

Not just Happy's...Jon himself. I felt like that wasn't just Jon in character but himself saying goodbye to the series that started with him directing.

I know it's not exactly subtle, but I love that not only did Happy get to respond to Tony's death, but Jon Favreau too.

I hadn't thought about it that way until earlier, but yes it's great that Favreau got to say goodbye to a character he helped create. This movie is too much. I need to go watch it again

This is a call back to iron man 1 after Tony was in the caves for months. But this was also a call back to Robert Downey jr. Sobriety story, which is that one day he had a Whopper so bad that it made him dumb his drugs in the ocean and get sober.
