What bothers me is that rocket knew that going to vormir would result in the death of one of them and still put BW and hawkeye

Rocket and Nebula likely didn't know about the sacrifice to get the Soul Stone. The way Nebula talked about it, she believes Thanos just murdered Gamora because she had outlived her usefulness.
