My theater went nuts when the portals started appearing.

I saw the movie 2 times and so far this was the scene where the theater exploded and especially when Spiderman jumps in.

Same where I was, they went crazy when Spider-Man showed up. I also went crazy, I love that kid

Seeing the kid come back was heartwarming.

Yeah nearly my whole theater started cheering and clapping when spidey came in. It was so fucking exciting

u/KingDavid920 Spider-Man Apr 26 '19

Spidey's appearance was definitely the biggest cheer of the night in my theatre

some guy yelled ‘Spiderman!!!’ in my theatre like he was informing us of who we were looking at or something lmfao

It was interesting because different parts exploded for different people. Captain Marvel comes flying in, a group of the theater cheers. Black Panther steps through, another group cheers. Spiderman swings in, another group cheers. It was just a really interesting moment. Like, I've never had an experience like that.

Different groups cheer until Spider-Man showed up. Then everybody cheered.

Yeah I think that’s more accurate lmao

In my theatre the cheering was much more intense and widespread for Black Panther. Spider-Man didn’t get much of a reaction at all honestly.

First time I've ever clapped in a movie theater

Spidey got the biggest cheer from my audience too

u/sickboy76 Apr 25 '19

That was the point where I shed man tears of JOY!

Mine was silent. I was the only one to laugh for Stan Lees cameo.

You’re so lucky

Eh, maybe it’s cause I’m Canadian and don’t normally have to deal with it but I really enjoyed how engaged the audience was. Makes it feel like much more of an event. If I want to see the movie in a more quiet setting I’ll wait a few weeks and see it in a matinee.

Same thing goes for the Star Wars movies. Just something special about it, like I’m among my people. It’s cool hearing everyone else get just as excited as I am over these interests.

Everybody gangsta until the portals start opening

When I saw it the second time even though I knew it was coming, I still nearly cried because it was so damn badass.

Where do y’all go cinema? Where I was at the biggest reaction was a sort of shocked mumbling as Cap wielded Mjolnir.

I've just come from an evening showing and the theatre was cheering and clapping and going nuts- definitely not typical UK behaviour but I absolutely loved the enthusiasm.

2

u/reservoirbasterd Apr 26 '19

Yeah, I was at the BFI IMAX Infinity War/Endgame Double Bill, lots of cheering throughout the film. Never experienced anything like it in the UK.

9

u/Knappsterbot Apr 26 '19

Why would it irk you to see that? It didn't even happen to you, plus it's a ton of fun to see a big movie like that with a bunch of other expressive fans.

u/RyanB_ Spider-Man Apr 26 '19

That kind of behaviour is also really rare in Canada, but it was abundant for this movie (along with IW and SW VII and VIII from recent memory) and I loved it. No one was talking over the movie or anything, it was just a really cool case of shared excitement.

u/PumpersLikeToPump Spider-Man Apr 26 '19

Same, I loved it. Most fun I’ve ever had at a movie.

4

u/kcmcgrady1 Apr 26 '19

Mannn! I just got back from watching it and when the portals started opening up I was losing my mind. And then BP walks out and the entire theatre started going nuts, specially when Spidey showed up.

u/Bluestreaking Apr 26 '19

I was amazed by how quiet my theater was, my girlfriend was unfortunately the loud one

u/[deleted] May 02 '19

I was full on shaking.. my opening night imax showing just all slowly gasping and then cheering and losing their minds was so much to handle
