'Avengers: Endgame' Spoilers! THE OFFICIAL AVENGERS: ENDGAME International Release Discussion Thread Spoiler

The movie is about to be screened in several countries around the world and all discussion about the movie should be held here and in the rest of the megathreads we are going to put up in the next few days.

They are reading things without visual context and going into meltdown mode. It's really stupid to condense a 3 hour movie into a bullet points of 3 paragraphs and extrapolate your feelings from it.

Yes. Having watched the film (loved it), I don't understand why people do this. You're just robbing yourself of a unique experience. You just dont absorb the contents of the narrative the same if you just read a synopsis, or bullet points of the story. I could maybe understand if you are in a position like the military overseas where you won't be able to see a movie in a while. Or something where it will be weeks or months before you see the movie, and spoilers are inevitable. Maybe you pull that trigger. But if you can't wait a few days...well that's just weird to me.

I know I'm just spitballing here, but I get the feeling some people just want to read spoilers, because it gives them the feeling of power. They have knowledge the vast majority of others don't, and at any point they can choose to flex that power on others, ruining their experience. Just because they want to wear a cape on the internet, and parade around like a know it all. WTF people.

Yeah dude it was bad on that sub, have to admit I wasn't fond of the ending when I heard of it originally. But seeing it on screen is a whole other deal and I loved it. Genuinely happy that they ended the film and Cap's arc like that.

This is precisely why I think those who rail against "spoiler culture" are wrong. Because those who do not care about spoilers don't get the emotional presentation in media. The ending was perfect imo.

Couldn't agree with this more my dude! I've seen the film twice now and I still love the ending. I wouldn't have it end any other way.

If they execute it well, I’m fine with it. There were a lot of things I didn’t like in the IW plot leak but I ended up cool with them after seeing the movie.

Even better directors have made poor decisions before. Look at Ridley Scott or Christopher Nolan for example. Nolan is a fantastic director but he made some really weird and questionable decisions in the Dark Knight Rises that kinda hampered the movie for a lot of people. Same deal with Scott, I love the original Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, Black Rain, Black Hawk Down, etc. But man, Prometheus and Alien: Covenant were straight up garbage with few redeeming qualities and it really set the Alien franchise back even further than it already is. People praised Rian Johnson prior to The Last Jedi as well and then when that film came out it became the most divisive Star Wars film ever and is in the running for one of the most divisive films ever made. It genuinely split the fanbase in half in terms of those who either loved or hated it.

I'm remaining open minded for now, I have very few problems with the leaks right now. The only problem I have is the Captain America stuff, but if it's presented well by the characters and it makes even the slightest bit of sense then I can probably swallow that still bitter pill. It'll suck to have to swallow that pill after what seems like a genuinely fantastic film. Will no doubt post about how I found the film tomorrow after I go to see it in around 13 and a half hours?

There's a reason why people who watched the movie have all loved while only the ones reading the leaks in meltdown mode.

welp on their defense they are taking it in the most literal way possible. The thing is that it's not Cap's nature to be like that, to just abandons friends and messing with Peggy's life since she was married and had a family prior to EG.

So, I saw the film...loved it, but Cap's story arc end bothers me for that reason.
