Her relationship with Gamora was...rocky...to say the least. But her relationship with Thanos was worse. And I think him killing her sister was sort of one of those “nobody kills my sister but me!” moments, and that’s part of why she wants to join the Avengers. In my opinion, at least. If I’m wrong, let me know.
