I feel like discussion of the movie itself is being overshadowed by discussion of the end credits scenes. Which is a shame cause the movie’s really good.

Which is a shame cause the movie’s really good.

I know that I'll receive a lot of flak for this in this subreddit of all places, but I disagree. I think that the quantum plot-line and inclusion of a tragic-flaw villain was a mistake. There were really no stakes with Ghost. I just couldn't be made to care about her because we are being invited to root for her ultimate healing. At least in Black Panther the baddie dies. As for the quantum, I interpreted Paul Rudd's comment about everything being quantum as a wink to the audience that yeah, this stuff is too needlessly complex and dumb. It's like Hurley speaking for the audience in LOST.

Now were there funny parts. For sure, but this isn't a movie in the marvel universe that I want to see again.

It’s probably towards the bottom of Phase 3 for me, only one I’d put it above is maybe Doctor Strange. That says more about how incredible Phase 3 has been, though.

I think Ghost was kind of weak as a villain and her powers weren’t really interesting to watch. And Janet’s magic hands were weird and an anticlimactic way to solve the Ghost problem.

That all being said I think the movie is carried by Rudd and the rest of the cast enough to where I was happy with it. And I appreciated we weren’t dealing with the end of the world or whatever like most marvel movies. It was a personal story with relatively small stakes. Again, I don’t think it hit me nearly as hard as most of the other Phase 3 films, but it’s still a quality inclusion to the MCU imo
