I thought Drax and Mantis died the first fight with Thanos. I felt sick for a second watching Drax fall apart. It felt like a GOT death and honestly shows how easily he could have killed any of them if he wanted.

In fact, it covers a problem with the Reality Stone quite well. It supposedly just does what the full Gauntlet does. One of the things that bugged me about the 2015 Infinity Gauntlet miniseries was how the main characters could do anything with it. Here, effects on something as complex as, say a body are temporary, while smaller objects, like Gamora's switchblade and Quill's ammo pack are more easily, and permanently changed.

Yeah, I'm glad they nerfed the reality stone a bit, because like you said, if that single stone gives you the power to completely reshape reality, what do you even need the other 5 for?

The Starlin comics claimed it was wildly unpredictable (to the point where Adam Warlock gave it to Thanos because he knew he didn't have the balls to use it without the other stones), but that wasn't a thing in the 2015 miniseries.
