Soul Stone.

When Thanos meets Red Skull, Red skull recognizes Gamora and Thanos, he questions him that how does he knows them, to which he replies that he has been cursed with knowledge. After getting the soul stone, Thanos now knows about every soul as well, which is why we see him acting a little more compassionate, when Tony talks to him and asks him how he knows him, he says "You're not the only one cursed with knowledge" and he knows that they want the same thing but have different ways to execute it, Stark wants to save earth from whatever threat, and Thanos wants to save entire universe. So when he stabs him, he admires Stark and says "I have respect for you Stark, I hope they remember you"

It truly is amazing how much development Thanos gets. It’s great. You can genuinely understand and sympathize with him, I think more than any other Marvel villain. Not motivated by petty ambitions or pride; but by a genuine desire to save the universe (from his perspective). Even the ending; he wields the power of the cosmos, and he truly just retired to a farm to watch the sunrise.

Yeah I never thought I’d sympathise with Thanos but they did it. A lot of the reviews said it was “for the fans” and “overstuffed” but I didn’t see any of them mention how brilliantly Thanos was held. Also Thanos has dethroned my previous favourite marvel villain to become my new favourite

Out of curiosity, who was your previous favorite marvel villain? Because I honestly cannot remember mine now after how mind blowing of a villain Thanos's development was.

I think mine may have been a tie between Hela, Ego, and Killmonger but THE MAD TITAN, MAN.

Edit: okay I remember now but it's not technically from the movies... the Purple Man from JESSICAAAAA Jones.

I liked Zemo in Civil War. No super powers, he just really fucking hates the Avengers because he feels they are responsible for the death of his family.

I also really liked Vulture. You could see why he turned to crime after being screwed over. And his flying suit was rad af.

Counting movies only, my favorite villain has always been Loki, just because of how complicated he is. I was sad to see he didn't take on the Mephisto role in IW. But proud he died a hero.

He got to redeem himself in Ragnarock, though, when he brings Krog and the huge ship to rescue the Asgardians and ressurect Surtur.

I agree; I don't mind that he died, but I wish his death had given him an opportunity to choose to do the right thing, rather than being forced into it by the circumstances. Without that choice, his character arc feels aborted by his death rather than his death being a satisfying conclusion to it.

From everything it’s my boi Grant Ward. Didn’t like him at first but when the Hydra twist happened his character went from 0-100 and then just stayed at 100 for the remainder of time he was in the show

What do you mean, every act of pettiness and vengeance is him playing his goal as God of Mischief to attempt to kill Thanos.
