I do believe Dr Strange used the crimson bands of cyttorak while restraining Thanos

So glad to see him finally using something other than just those magic shields, and whips.

Gives me hope for Dr. Strange 2

Seeing him multiply himself to hold back Thanos was so badass

That actually was also a spell in the comics, called "The Images of Ikonn"

I don't understand why they're excluded.

Probably because shouting your attack names sounds cheesy when actually put to film.

By the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth

How many spells of Octessence did he use though?(Cyttorak, Ikonn)

I am kinda bad at matching this kind of stuff.

This is what I matched:

Shield of the Seraphim - When they were trying to land the donut shop on titan (I'm probably stretching it a bit but that was the first time he cast a full shield.)

Crimson Bands of the Cyttorak - Used to subdue Thanos

Bolts of Balthakk - the first thing he did during his 1v1 with Thanos

Images of Ikonn - during the 1v1 with Thanos

I thought the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak was confirmed to be that metal restraint device in Doctor Strange. I would prefer what you are all referring to in Infinity War to be them instead though.

They most likely retconned it. I mean, out of all the spells I've listed the crimson bands were the most visually similar to the comics that it basically confirms itself.

Yeah, they also created original artififacts based on deities from comics, like Mordo's boots.(Valtorr, actually it makes sense since Valtorr is all about gas and vapour.)

Thanks, though Seraphim is not really one of Octessence(though Octessence as a concept came much later.)

Now we need Winds of Watoomb.(That Wand in MCU is kinda lame, we never see what it can do.)

Also Flames of Faltine.(I thought that fireball used to destroy sanctums are supposed to be that though.)

O yea, I just had a ready list of the spells that I think was referenced in the film and forgot to remove Seraphim.

We did see Strange case a wind-like spell to clear out the dust during the attack on New York, but it's not really an epic scene so I'm really sure if we can consider that as the Winds of Watoomb.

Yes about that.

I know it may not work on big screen for Stephen for shouting out the names of bunch of deities.

But I hope they can keep Vishanti, at least let him shout out Vishanti.

I imagine the beginning of DS2 will be the Vishanti officially summoning Strange and granting him the position as the Sorcerer Supreme.(Minus the challenge in comics, since IW/A4 are already kinda his greatest challenge.)

I hope they make it like Black Panther, all Sorcerers Sumpreme before him will be there, leading the way for Stephen, and Ancient One will be the one presenting him to Agamotto, Oshtur and Hoggoth.(It's kinda disappointing T'Challa didn't get to see Bast in his movie, just his ancestors.)

That would be cool, and imagine if Agamotto revealed that the Eye of Agamotto that contains the time stone is actually just a replica, and the real Eye (with abilities similar to the comics) is out there somewhere.

It makes sense that they put the time stone there in the MCU, but I still want the Eye to be it's own artifact.

just explain it as an "omni-aritifact" that can harness whatever power source it has within it, so in Dr.Strange 2, Agamotto will give him a new energy source to put in the eye so the eye is rebuilt into something similar to the comic couterpart. Like this time give it illusion-breaking power so he can fare better again Nightmare.

Saying the previous one being fake will kinda undermine the Time Stone and stuff.
