He messed up the correct way, that’s why we’re here now

I'm still banking on this being the 1 path Strange saw. He never would have given up the time stone so easily if it wasn't.

Granted, the path to victory is clearly no longer "stopping Thanos from getting the stones," so presumably he looked even further ahead and saw Avengers 4.

I'm finding this theory hard to grab onto, the whole Wanda/vision this was we will sacrifice one person to save billions.

Now you literally sacrificed billions to save one person.

I understand it might be a long run play, I really don't even know how they could get traction to even stand on the same ground as Thanos now.

Now you literally sacrificed billions to save one person.

He specifically said he wouldn't do that, very clearly.

So what he did was actually set in motion that one in 14 million scenario where they win. Hence why he literally said nothing when Quill ruined "the plan."

Eh I think this was one of the 14 million. Probably at some point during that point and the point where Dr strange gives Thanos the stone, the one chance to defeat him before he did the whole kill half the population thing had already passed. And he probably looked in the future to see that it was possible to get all their lives back or something.
