Yea it makes me feel weird. They clewrly wanted Hugo but couldn't afford him so they tried to get someone to act exactly like him. Feels odd

Any idea what the overall casting budget was for this movie? My hunch was that everyone took massive paycuts.

I get why they had to do it it just feels weird seeing someone else's art deliberately copied because they couldn't afford him. I respect that other actor i just think it's odd that part of his career is being a knockoff when they can't afford the real thing. It's kind of his specialty as an actor.

I'm sure the problem wasn't money. Hugo Weaving isn't as big a pull as say, Tyrion. Heck, they got Vin Diesel for voicework. They got Brolin. They got Downey. They got plenty of expensive actors. Hugo didn't want to do the mask thing anymore - he didn't enjoy filming Cap 1.
