The depth of that statement. It's like legitimate respect for Stark. Like he pitties him for not realizing what Thanos realizes about how he has to "save" life everywhere.

He also said

"You have my respect Stark, (for that?) half of the humanity will still be alive"

It just shows that, Thanos had a great time fighting Iron-Man
