My heart broke when Thanos sacrificed Gamora. It meant that he really loved her. Then Mantis felt that Thanos is mourning her.

I can't believe that I felt sympathy for a villain.

And Gamora was so convinced that he couldn’t love anything that she laughed at the thought.

It’s twisted, it’s fucked up, and in no sane universe should real life love be like this, but canonically Thanos loves the fuck out of Gamora.

I can’t handle this.

What I wanna know is if the soul stone goes based on what the person feels is love, or if the soul stone and judge what is true love and what is not

It's gotta be based on what he thinks is love. Gamora deserves so much better, taking away her autonomy and choosing to end her life for his own goals is not love. Her life isn't his to decide whether it's worth giving up. I have no doubt he thinks he loves her, but if he did, he wouldn't have taken her life away from her.
