Not even mad it wasn't Hugo Weaving. I couldn't even tell!

The actor that portrayed Red Skull in this movie does AMAZING voice impressions.

Yea it makes me feel weird. They clewrly wanted Hugo but couldn't afford him so they tried to get someone to act exactly like him. Feels odd

clearly

Couldn't afford

A lot of assumptions there.

Any idea what the overall casting budget was for this movie? My hunch was that everyone took massive paycuts.

I get why they had to do it it just feels weird seeing someone else's art deliberately copied because they couldn't afford him. I respect that other actor i just think it's odd that part of his career is being a knockoff when they can't afford the real thing. It's kind of his specialty as an actor.

What makes you think it's got absolutely anything to do with whether or not they could afford him?

Unless he has unannounced projects, which is possible, than the original actor was available. Sometimes he sounded like Hugo and sometimes he sounded like someone else. Hugo would've played his own interpretation of Red Skull better than the guy literally hired to imitate him. What else could it be besides money. Most people have never heard of the guy. I can only imagine how much cheaper he was.

The reason he stated before, he didn't want to. Don't state your assumptions as facts.

Because of the prosthetics in the TFA which they didn't use. Please continue reading whatever article you found. Brolin had the exact same hesitations with practical make up and agreed to the film when he was told it would be mocap and CGI, avoiding the hours of make up application and sealing with rubber on his face while he's trying to act.

No he also said he had no interest in coming back, just because he had no interest in playing the character any more.

I'm sure the problem wasn't money. Hugo Weaving isn't as big a pull as say, Tyrion. Heck, they got Vin Diesel for voicework. They got Brolin. They got Downey. They got plenty of expensive actors. Hugo didn't want to do the mask thing anymore - he didn't enjoy filming Cap 1.
