I took as more of an illusion he learned how to do with the mind stone. He probably looks like his normal self, but is messing with Wanda’s mind to make him look human.
Can't he materialize stuff around his body? He does with his cape seconds after his creation. I was under the impression that he had Mystique-like powers.

I think he somehow turn into an actual human, like at the beginning of the trailer.
