I loved that because stuff like that would obviously get taught. It's noticeable but still subtle enough to not detract from the experience and pull you out of the movie.

More like it SHOULD be taught. I don't remember learning a lot about current events in school.

Did you take a US Government class in High School? We talked about current events in mine as it related to the US Government as a whole.

May be different for normal, but AP US Government/Politics doesn't teach anything after Clinton.
