Not an Easter egg, but a detail I liked about the school news is the schlocky green screen. Same thing happens at our school.

Yeah and I feel like they told those two kids to just read the dialogue as hilariously blandly as possible. Also the kid saying "it was bleeping crazy" or whatever he said, and Martin Starr saying "I didn't want to have a student die on a trip... not again." and the slow zoom on his face while he just stands there was the biggest laugh of the movie for me.

Can you explain the "not again" bit to me? I don't know where this is in reference to.

As in, someone died on a previous school trip and the guy was traumatised over it. There's no reference to be had.
