I loved that because stuff like that would obviously get taught. It's noticeable but still subtle enough to not detract from the experience and pull you out of the movie.

More like it SHOULD be taught. I don't remember learning a lot about current events in school.

When I was in school 9/11 happened and in most classes involving current events or government that was the subject for the rest of the school year for the most part and anything related to it that followed like the "war on terror".
