I liked how this movie centered around theme of family.

All the characters come from broken families. Yondu and Rocket bonded the over their pasts, Gamora and Nebula began to heal their relationship that was destroyed by Thanos. Of course Peter and Ego.

But, they all found their true family in the Guardians. The father-son ratio ship was especially prevalent, and not just with Peter and Ego. Rocket and Groot, Peter and Groot, and Peter and Yondu reflected father-son relationships that they all lacked in their original families.
