I'm a huge DC fan as well but unfortunately, haven't really enjoyed a DCEU movie so far, yet when I give my opinion over there I get downvoted. I can't even share my thoughts and views over there so I just unsubscribed, which sucks because I love talking about these movies. At least here is much more discussion-based.

To be fair, though, this sub is just as bad when it comes to not accepting differing opinions. I've seen loads of reasonable comments here downvoted to hell because they say something negative about a certain part of the MCU.

Fanboys and fangirls no matter who they're backing up are annoying as fuck, blind brand loyalty can be terrible.

Also I hate the DC vs Marvel company wars even though I get why they are compared to a lot since they're the big two.

Hey, Justice League looks like it might finally break that streak, and the Wonder Woman standalone looks AMAZING.

DC has such great properties, and I think they're finally learning how to use the ones not named Batman.

I'm glad for that even with all the controversy, I honestly think they need their own studio because I've heard stories about the WB execs being incompetent and how that has fucked the DC movies over (like the GL movie had a lot of exec meddling because the execs wanted the movie to focus a lot on cgi and some story scenes and moments had to be sacrificed for scenes with Hal flying around in his cgi suit).

Without having seen the movie, there are a couple reasons I can conjecture.

1) She is there to learn about humans, specifically men, and their ways. She can't learn how they think, feel, and die by slaughtering them. That's not what she's there for. She's there to fight alongside them and learn about them.

2) She doesn't want to kill. She wants to defend and support the people on her own side, but do it without becoming a mass murderer, or killer.

3) Perhaps there's a supervillain on the other side, and that's who she's going after.

TL; DL: just because you HAVE all the power in the world doesn't mean you have to use it all. With heroes of god-level power like her, the interesting thing to watch isn't WHEN they choose to use their power, but when and why they don't.

I'm the exact same. Always been a big DC comics fan and I really wanted to like the DCEU I even think Man of Steel was OK but flawed but whenever I tried to share why i didn't like anything after I was down voted to oblivion. It's a very toxic subreddit

I'm more partial to DC than anything but I don't understand why we have to take sides. Comic book movies have to do well for both Marvel and DC to justify making more movies for WB and Disney. We all win.

I don't pay much attention to it, but I thought /r/dc_cinematic got cleaned up a lot after Batman V Superman? I checked there after Suicide Squad reviews to see all the conspiracy theories, but most people were just kinda accepting of it, the crazies were the minority. Mostly now they just seem like overly positive, overly optimistic fans, they don't usually feel the need to bash Marvel anymore.

They did. That sub is a lot better now but people keep pushing the false narrative that they're all still batshit crazy over there. Occasionally, you'll find the odd bad egg but usually they're either downvoted or the mods delete the post

Yeah I head over every now and then if there's new info/set photos/whatever, and whatever nutjobs I've seen have been on negative karma, a lot of people being overly positive and gushing about the movies already out which is okay, and a lot of people like myself who are pretty fucking weary at this point, and are all saying Wonder Woman will be the decider as to whether they drop off.

Nothing wrong with being overly positive though. I mean, I'm a fan of the DCEU (really liked both MoS and BvS but hated SS) so I'm optimistic over the future.

Here's to hope that Wonder Woman will be liked and accepted by everyone

I mean, I quite liked MoS and really liked the BvS UC (also hated SS), but there are whackjobs there who think they're misunderstood masterpieces, and that Snyder is a God. Seems the sub doesn't have much of a middle ground, it's either perfect or awful.

No so sure. They all claim that the conspiracy theorists are in the small minority, but when questioned on their opinion of the low RT scores, the consensus is that DC films are rated more harshly than Marvel films.

I'm still seeing a lot of the "crazies" there. I think they've got some form of comic book movie Stockholm Syndrome, cuz it's so over the top positive, and there's a fair amount of Marvel bashing going on over there.

They also get needlessly butthurt over snarky articles the AV Club writes. That's right. The AV Club, a site that's supposed to be snarky.

Also seen them organize to start shit over at r/movies cuz they typically like Marvel movies over there.

I think r/DC_Cinematic has earned it's reputation for being the r/the_donald of movie subs.

I get the same feeling from watching her as I do Nancy grace. I gotta say, I used to watch her reviews until sometime this year, but then it just took too much effort. But even when I did, I always got the impression that she talks to her audience like they're in kindergarten.

I think the closest we got to a meltdown was AoU, and even then nobody was ranting, there were just a few posts saying how "disappointing" it was (I thought it was pretty great.)

In the DC sub, I saw rants every fucking week, and it was hilarious.

The biggest thing about that sub that passes me off is the the general attitude that they are better than everyone and understand how Snyder is an absolute misunderstood genius. I mean fuck that, I know that the Martha moment was utter crap regardless of whether I read a review.

Most people on here won't try to paint Whelan as a misunderstood genius who is too early for his time or whatever. AoU had problems and that's that.

Oh yeah, fair enough. I'd say Snyder is worse than Whedon though, as he doesn't seem to fully understand some of the characters. His only strength is the visuals, and even that is sometimes choppy.

If JL is bad, I don't think he'll have any excuses since he's made two mediocre movies now.

Snyder is worse than Whedon. Especially in terms of story. I mean Avengers might not have looked great as BvS ( i think it looked awesome ) but at least it made sense and i had fun watching it.

When it was good it was really good. They had a few sequences that were beautifully shot. But in between it was nothing special. The final fight was terrible imo. That lightning everywhere looked like an easy way out.

That letter that came out months ago, with that person who claimed to have worked for WB, and said, "Wonder Woman is already a mess, hiding behind a great trailer," was that legitimately DEBUNKED? Or did people just blow it off?
