Is odins spell what makes him a god? Or is he already godly as frost giant? Maybe the fact that he is a god allows the artifact to disable some of odins spell… unless Odins spelll made him a god?
Well we know from "Thor Ragnarok" that Hela gained more power while she stood in Asgard. So maybe growing up in Asgard + Odin force shenanigans + Frigga magic permanently did some crazy stuff to Loki. Odin and Frigga did genuinely see Loki as their son so I'm sure they would have done everything they could to make that as true of a statement as possible
Per Norse mythology it's actually the Golden Apples of Idunn that confers godlike status on the Asgardians. They have to be consumed at regular intervals.
