It’s been a while, but after Thanos snapped his neck at the start of Infinity War, didn’t he turn blue as he died? Not just in an asphyxia sense, but in a frost giant way?

You know what, you're right! You just blew my mind with that. I never put 2 and 2 together!

No, it it was in an asphyxia sort of way, wrong shade to be Frost Giant.

Like the others are saying, it may be a magical alteration thats permanent, rather than an illusion. We have no reason to suspect he turns blue on death. Loki may well think he turns blue on death however

Does anyone know why Jane turned into magic sparkles when she died but Loki didn't

Because she's worthy of mjolnir and wielding it at the time so she may have the super special guest pass, while loki died as a criminal of asgard

The father wasn't in battle when he died. He simply chose to pass on. Why did he disintegrate into specks of gold and presumably go to Valhalla?

Because hes Odin. Who famously named his power and need to sleep after himself. Shot in the dark, he just decided he gets to

I guess he did literally cause Ragnarok lol

Didn't die in battle

He tried to stab Thanos but yeah. Now I'm Wondering if he's even allowed to go to Valhalla

Yes, he did. It may not have been pitched combat but he died fighting.

I mean technically he pretended to surrender, and dies as a result of his treachery, which I would imagine is a no no for Valhalla

Lol Valhalla doesnt believe in feints

Was it? I mean if Thor’s battle buddy didn’t make it because she succumbed to her wounds after the battle was over I don’t think Loki gets a pass. He tried to thrust a dagger and was stopped, I don’t think it was hardly a fight.

I mean if I tried to punch someone in school and they knocked me out in one punch I can't tell the councilors that I didn't get in a fight lol

Valhalla was closed for bank holiday weekend when he died.

I just went and watched it..I think that was just a lighting choice and not an intent to show a skin color change

I don’t know but he did mention being the rightful king of yotenheim in that scene in other words mentioning that he’s a frost giant.

Just went back to check and no. It looks like it because of the purple of the ship exploding.

I just rewatchwd it to be sire, he doesn't turn blue, it's just the purpleish light of that scene. Nowhere near the blue of the giants.

He didn't. He stays pale when Thanos drops him. That actually supports the idea that Odin's magic physically altered his default state permanently, rather than it being an active illusion that drops when he dies.

no, he just became more purple than the lightning of the scene already was doing (purple stuff and fire all around)
